Drawing For Inspiration

Because I'm a very visual person, when I draw my ideas it gives me more inspiration and clarity of how to go about writing the reason behind my trend package.
Here are just a few doodles I created using my colour palette, a futuristic approach to nature and beauty...

Using the colours around the eyes and on the body...

Combing purples and pinks

Using shading and my colour palette to create a natural and futuristic approach to makeup design

Fashion Meet the Earth

Here are a collection of beautiful images I found of the internet which I think link to my idea, whether this be textures, fabrics, locations, colours or even the general feel of the photograph...

The colour of this fabric is so vibrant and beautiful against the harsh background. The kind of feel I want to create for my trend package is high fashion into an earthy surrounding. Thought this image is more for the shock factor due to her outfit in that location, the flow of the fabric next to the colours of the place is what I want to capture through my package.

The innocent of this image is beautiful.

The colour pop and the texture of the mud of the skin is what drew me to this image. I think it's absolutely stunning. This maybe one I will use in my final package...

The aqua colour of the water is incredible and the material and shape of the outfit...

All of these have inspired me to start creating my trend package. Now I just need to think of the perfect paragraph to start off with...

And find the perfect images!

Development of Technology

I found this video on youtube and I was completely blow away by the whole thing! Whether this will happen in 2015, before or even afterwards, I think the idea and the vision is incredible!

The affect that this will also have on fashion will be amazing with use of technology within fashion design. The use of holograms and cutting edge fabrics and shapes.
Everything seems to be extremely clear and almost have a glass effect. Maybe this could be one of the textures the materials for this trend could reflect.
Also you can see the blue which I want to incorporate into my trend package is used within this technology as is the grey/off white colour.

Through my research I went on the WGSN website and looked through up and coming trends, where the inspiration is coming. I found, as well as printed tshirts with political statements like Vivienne Westwood's collection for SS14, technology had a huge part in design and colour. However, instead of a clear technological style, they have chosen to focus things by looking through CCTV, being slightly blurry and glitchy.
Baring in mind, this is for 2014, therefore this is another reason this trend would be perfect one as it develops from last years SS collections and incorporates the earth and the positivity of biodiversity within it too!

I want to project how futurism and technology can go hand in hand with the health of the earth and the saving of lives/energy.
I am going to look at more fashion editorials which project this kind of image before I start creating the first page of my package...

Trend Moodboards

I love making mood boards, I'm such a visual person so using them is a perfect way to put across my ideas.
I have created some mood boards to portray the kind of feel I am wanting to accompany my trend package.

Above is one of the makeup. The bold colours from my colour palette are and delicately and subtly applied to the face to have a pop of colour but with a natural and effortless appearance. Almost as if the brush was used only a couple of times of the lids or around the eyes. I want the texture of powder to be apparent as it links to the texture of earth. The skin is flawless and glowing but natural and dewy looking. The eyebrows are slightly groomed but imperfect.
Highlight is used to embrace the faces natural beauty such as under the brow bones and across the cheek bones.
The candyfloss colour of the hair in the top left is lovely and shows texture, however in this case I would want it to be shiner and healthier looking portraying nourishment and health...

Above I created a moodboard inspired by fashion editorials. All four of the images are stunning to look at, not only because of their relation to architecture and the earth but also having beautiful colours and fabrics along side that. Though these fabrics are overly floaty, I want them to have a basic structure to them also.

I created a Pinterest board so I could collect a range of images using colours, textures and ones that generally inspire me for the trend package... http://www.pinterest.com/mfrayment/fashion-forecasting/

What's the Colour Palette?

?As well as a good concept, the colour palette is of key importance when forming a trend package. I found these images on the website of futuristic and innovative designs of futuristic architecture and agriculture.
I found these three in particular very clean, clear and inspiring. The colours involved also link perfectly in reflecting of nature, futurism and the planet. They also have a summer feel to them, well I think anyway! Perfect.

All three have a main colour of white and blue. Instead of have a perfect white, I thought, linking back to architecture and technology/futurism, of having an off white. A metal white, with either a very slight blue tint or grey/silver sheen to it.

Like the sheets and materials involved and presented in the image below, instead of the typical harsh strong and metallic approach to futuristic fashion which have been presented in past collections and throughout fashion, I can see more floaty and textures materials. Materials which reflect the natural world instead of harsh man made fibres and metals.

The green of the grass and the vibrant blue of the sea and sky, when put together create a turquoise, which could be a main block colour which could be seen in SS15. With a reflect of both water and earth, a light feel of summer and a colour which hasn't recently been high on trend, this is a strong possibility.

Especially in this image below, the shapes of the buildings and the whole feel of the design echos futurism yet it looks light and low efficient. I want to reflect this within my trend package, one that could possibly and hopefully project a positive attitude towards 'energy for life' and the importance of our planet.

All images used for inspirational purposes, I do not own any of these. All images taken from http://www.expo2015.org/ go there for information on Expo15 and the Universal Exposition generally.

Colour Palette Ideas
Deep Purple, turquoise, beige, nude, golden browns, pale yellow, pale green, baby blue, tinted white

I made this collection of colours and natural scenery to create some inspiration for a colour palette. With brown/yellow/bronze tones to reflect the crops, the earth. This can be reflected in the makeup for the trend package, with a bronzed and natural glow to the skin reflecting health and nature.
The light blues/turquoise can be a reflection of hydration, the sea and the sky, clarity of purity. This can be reflecting possible tones for the hair and colours for the clothing/shoes. A strong colour for a huge part of our planet?

Maybe I'm going a little too deeply into this but it's inspiring me to design clothes, makeup and hair for my own collection! Where futurism and nature collide...
This is why I love blogging, I can just empty my thoughts, ideas and my brain onto here where I can look at it all and create some structure whereas if I have ideas in my head and leave them there, they tend to get blurred with other ideas and disappear.

Another colour I found intriguing and beautiful which reflects nature but also can be a bold colour for my palette is a deep purple. The purple represents luxury, I want to emphasise the wealth and beauty of our planet. All of these images are a natural sunsets with a purple/lilac/violet colours. This can be used within fabrics and also within the makeup.
The hint of yellow can be combined with the purple as they both compliment each other extremely well. As you can see above.

So far I have a basic colour palette which I will work on to get the perfect combination of colours for my trend.
The next step is to look at textures and fabrics for my trend...

'Feeding the planet, energy for life'

I have been searching over the internet trying to find key events that are happening in 2015. I found this... The Universal Exposition.

What is the universal exposition I hear you ask... It is a huge public exhibition which can last between a few weeks to a few months. Well the next one will be held in 2015 in Milan, Italy with the theme being 'feeding the planet, energy for life'. These exhibitions happen in different places every few years which showcase ideas for new architecture and new ways to improve our future by saving a energy. These ideas are to help and nurture our planet, improve the worlds economy and its health, in aspects such as agriculture.
With Milan being of the top fashion capitals of the world, the fact that this exhibition is being held there made me think that in 2015 this theme may play some part in the fashion trends within Milan if not within the whole of fashion.
The theme of the exposition is the future of availability of food and water supplies and the state of nutrition and health in the years to come.
This particular topic of stripping everything back to the earth and its natural resources started to get me thinking. Recently Vivienne Westwood has begun a huge organisation within fashion battling climate change. Obviously Westwood is famous for her outrageous collections which always reflect a meaningful political or ethical issues.

Key Words
Renewal, energy, planet, earth, basics, summer, natural beauty, health, sky, sea, deeps pinks and purples, soil, crops, hydration, architecture

With these trends hot on the catwalk for SS14, I thought by using inspiration for the Expo 2015 website,  could take into account the shapes and colours of the architectural drawing and designs to help create a trend. Fashion has a huge impact on society and culture, therefore using Expo 15 as an influence is also beneficial in raising awareness of important issues such as improving and the future of our planet...

First Fashion Forecast EVER

Here I am again, back to blogger. I've taken to tumblr this summer with sharing my work on there via Instagram though I always find with intense briefs, blogger is easier to organise and progress with my ideas.
So this time it's about fashion forecasting for Spring Summer 2015, what colours/textures/shapes will be in style. I haven't ever predicted fashion trends until now but have always been interested in finding out where they generate from and what inspired them. This past spring/summer 2013, the monochrome look has been one of my favourite summer collections. Block colours, clean, crisp. Pure style with the cut of the clothes being key.
From here I have been more intrigued by trend forecasting, therefore this project is so exciting!

WGSN has become one of my favourite websites! It has such a broad range of topics, collections and combines music, art, culture and fashion.
I have to create an fashion movement which influence an umbrella of trends for the whole of SS15, producing a colour palette, textures of fabrics/hair/makeup all of which will reflect my initial idea.
Research is key, therefore now I am going to have a look at what the future of 2015 has to hold within popular culture, film, society, politics... all that jazz!
Wish me luck, I'm glad to be back x
